Yup. I bet not many people do that.

Work has been quiet with the boss out. The second in command is overwhelmed, sadly, but since I am segregated I cannot help.

So...the only bad habit my adorable cat has is scratching my sofa. I have a scratch post and and toy and a mat for hime...but when I was at work he would scratch the sofa.... ,It looked terrible. The sofa is 13 years old, but hardly used...the cushions don't even sag... but the scratches...

I have painted the room, made a curtain, bought a new rug... and then there is the ratty sections of sofa. Sigh. So I sat on t he floor with a pair of sharp fabric scissors and an old fashioned SHARP razor and cut and shaved the snags that Frankie made... and while I know there are small marks... It doesn't look bad. It took few hours but it make me happy.

Cats do seem to have a favourite place to scratch. Inka likes to scratch the corner of the rug. It's a deep pile so she doesn't damage it. They both use a scratching post. My son's cat, Lizzie, used to scratch the bottom step of the stairs and gradually wore a hole in the carpet. I think you can buy 'Cat Scratch' repellent or spray a citrus mix on the sofa to help deter Frankie.
