ravena_kadeSo it never rained today...despite everything the weather said last night. Because everything said heavy rain for today I cancelled going north to Rockport. Next week. Along with walking in clear north salt water I wanted to get a small basket in one of the craft shops and get a nice small basket for when I go out and dead head my day lilies.... Yes, we make our own rituals.
Since was sunny (and hot) I spend the day in the yard. I weeded and planted a section of the fence line boarder I put in some Hollyhock. The should give some August color. I hope they take. I think they are biannual in blooming habit so it the grow there I will have to get another for next year. We shall see.
I also built a structure around where I have the sunflower sticks. If nothing breaches it I will pit in the 4 remaining seedlings. If its birds this will stop. If its the Wood chuck then iy will eat straight through it with no issue. We shall see. Its still weird as the chuck did not eat the petunias or daliahs.
Along with a basket I want to get a nice journal so I can keep garden notes in it...like what worked, what didn't...notes and dates to plan to do things next year...etc. I want something nice.
Learned something new today. I learned that Long Horn Cows have BIG horns just like the males. I think that is cool.
