Today I wanted to head North.

Its still a holiday weekend even if I didn't have a holiday day off so I just didn't want to leave Dad alone.

I asked if he wanted to head tp Ipswich... The bar I get clams at was open, with limited seating. We headed up and had a lovely dinner...my first clams of the season. I went to the Nursery for flowers and we had an ice-cream.

I asked if he would drive to the coast... a 3 minute drive (over an hour walk) Not my beach, because that is restricted. This beach is restricted too, but I had him park on the road and I went over...we my feet picked up a muscle shell and a granite rock. The water was lovely. I also filled a bottle with sea water... I am amazed at how clear the water is. AMAZED. Crystal clear. The water at the beach at my house has all sorts of stuff in it and is not clear....its a mud bottom bay..so its muddy and that holds on to some pollution. Sigh.

The rock and shell will join other rocks and shells in rocky circle in my garden where I keep my orange chair. The circle needs to be reformed because I could not work it last year because my hands were not working right last summer. A project of mine is to get the circle done and surround myself with rocks and stones from my happy place where I am barred from this year. Once the circle is done I will add the sea water.

I hope to get back up north... maybe next week...to the sea. I need a sea buddy. I can get to the sea in Rockport, but there are no shells there and really not a place to walk in the surf. Rockport is ROCKY. I want to collect clean seawater and try and paint with it and see if it changes the watercolor.
