Jul. 4th, 2020 08:48 pmThe plan for today was to go out in the garden and plant my sunflower seedlings and other things before going to the cousins.
Woke up and it was cold, gray, and windy... and it was just a morning to stay in.
The sun did come out before we went to the cousins, but it was still cool for a July 4th.
The cousins had their niece over with her husband and their 1.5 year old son, No one had seen him since February...and by do little kids change in a few months. He is a lovely toddler and does all sorts of fun and charming toddler things. He really doesn't know me well, but he was friendly and curious about me. He likes my Dad a lot ...he would see Dad at the breakfast place every week. Nice kid... I cant wait until he starts talking...thats when I like to play with them... =)
The cousins, other the other hand, acted like babbling idiots for the day. OMG. The grandfather, who is out in the public and is exposed to lots of people...and the grandmother who works in supermarket so they have not been social distancing... just barged int the yard and did not wear masks...
My Aunt, the Great Grandmother, who is 91, was mad as this was supposed to be her time with her great grandchild.
So most of the time was spent around people bickering. Dad played with the little guy so that was good. The little guy was curious about me...probably because I was not making silly noises at him. He wanted to figure me out. He brought a little kids book over to me so I read it to him and he seemed to like that. He was even cuddling with me =) That made the grandfather jealous ;-) Once I get back on the trains I won't do that.
I had my fill around 5:30, but Dad was helping the cousins with fixing a doorknob so we didn't leave until 6. I was lazy and did not get out to plant my Sunflowers. There is always tomorrow morning.
Right now I have some work anxiety...Its Saturday night, but feels like a Sunday. I am trying hard to resist opening up the work laptop. Work doesn't deserve that.
