I just read that you have to have tickets to go to Crane's beach in Ipswich...

Tickets...

Just how do you book a ticket for a day in June or July now when you don't know if there will be storms?

Im...not....happy.

and while it sounds so trivial to other people... this one of the only special things I have.

People have already told me I will be persona non grata once I go on the trains.

Hopefully this will be lifted come August... the year of my 55th is sucking immensely, I would have just liked to spend the day someplace that makes me happy.

Tickets to visit a beach, whatever next? I think everywhere is struggling with the possibility of being overwhelmed with day trippers as lockdown restrictions are eased. Most of our top tourist spots are actively discouraging visitors for the time being.

That's tough. Although I just checked their web site and if you're on foot it's only $3 for non-members, and free for members, which isn't too bad. If you're driving, it's more expensive.

They're probably stuck trying to figure out how to 1) enforce some social distancing while 2) trying to make enough revenue to not have to go bankrupt. I honestly fear for museums and public gardens and other "nice places" that primarily make their money from tourism. How are any of them going to survive?
