Today I asked if I could change my start time to 5 AM while we worked remote. My reason was that since I am to do all the reconciliation and no one can work their accounts until I finish I thought it would benefit the team. In order to finish by 8 I had been getting up and starting at 4. This week instead of 4 hours it has been taking almost 8 hours to do a 2 hours job. The boss came back and said no because it wouldn't be fair to the other team members. Ummm... I was told that all of my functions are segregated from the rest of the team... If I don't start early they can't start their accounts until the afternoon. The system works faster before 6 AM. She said that she new I started early, but it wouldn't be fair to the others...and she hoped I understood. Umm...the others not being able to work until noon really isn't fair. I said okay...I will maintain my original start time to be fair. I had 6 emails about when I would be finished. I copied the boss and said that I was sorry, but I cannot balance the accounts any faster due to the systems limitations.

Then my coworkers sent me instructions for the new account I am to take over without being shown how to do it. They gave me screen shots but no words on where the data came from ... okay. Then as I am reading it they are trying to get me all the work. They don't understand that I am only to balance the accounts and check the work that they do the day before. I sent emails explaining my roll... they did not understand The boss finally called a meeting using the work instant messenger. She tried to explain segregation. The coworker basically said that segregation is what was done to black people in the south and they did not understand how it pertained to work... SIGH.

One of them asked when we were going to get any help since we lost 2 people and I can't work on credit cards. He doesn't understand. The boss embarrassed him. The boss told him that he wasn't doing anymore than what he did in the office. He said he knew that but it takes triple the time to do the work because the systems don't work remote. We are getting burned out. She told him to take a vacation day.

I had a half of pto day tomorrow. Now I can't take it because the only day VISA will have a meeting with is is tomorrow at 1 PM. If I don't stay then I cant get my system fixed. Sigh.

Since it has been taking things so long I worked until 9:30 tonight to clear up on of my accounts... because starting tomorrow I am going out for a walk at 5 AM instead of working.

I really feel for you having to put up with such poor treatment. They should be bending over backwards to help all staff in any way they can. I really don't understand why your bosses are so unreasonable. x
