ravena_kadeToday was the Dinosaurs last day. It was sad as we could not wish her well in person...she could not say good bye to her friends, etc....
I called her to wish her well. She was crying. She did not want to retire as there is nothing at home for her. Sad.
She sent out a really nice good bye. I sent something back.

We promised to come and get her when the social isolation is over and we would do dinner.
Never saw anything in response from the boss.
Not all Day.
The Dinosaur did a last email and said that her computer would be shut down by the company.
Thats when I called.
I listened. Tried to be as compassionate as you can on a phone when the woman just needed a shoulder right there an then..but there was no one
I asked if the boss said anything. She said tat she got an email about what to put on her email response. I asked if the boss said anything nice... and she started crying again. The answer was No.
Ummmmm... really... all she had to say was Thank you for 38 years of service...Maybe something about missing her smiling face in the morning... or maybe...no one will ever fix the photo copiers the way you did...ANY. FUCKING. THING.
Sigh.
Oh well. That should be it about the boss for a bit. As of Monday my job has become remedial..so the most conversation should be the word "okay" or "yes" or "not sure"
If I finish early I can just keep the laptop near incase of a stray email. I intend to paint my living room

I will reach out... I told he to call me. She can even call me at work since I will be the only one in the office early and the boss took a lot of my work away from me.
