the boss pushed to have us work from at home. Today we were told we need to work from at home. I think it may have had something to do with the Mayor and the Governor banning gatherings of more than 25 people.

The boss is happy.

She was bored all day today. The other coworker was board all day today. I had a ton of work. The boss laughed and said "I bet Jen is not bored". Nope, Quite busy. I need to get things done that require the fax machine before I have to work from at home. I had asked for help for this Friday where I will be doing 3 people's work at home where the VPN service is very very slow. She shot me down. I just shook my head. The coworker said she would help with what she could. I appreciate that. The problem is that I will have 33 accounts to reconcile... in work it takes 2 hours. At home over 4 hours. This work was supposed to go to the team in PA, but now my boss is having me do it...she hasn't told me yet, but I am not deaf. Now she won't have to tell me to my face. I hope we are back to work in a couple weeks. If not then I will make sure I do these last in the day and do the work that involves claims first in the morning. I need 4 hours a day to do that properly.

I have been looking internally for another job, but all that is on hold with the social distancing.

And while I understand what the social distancing is meant to accomplish...there is this gnawing feeling in my gut about being denied the right to assemble. Perhaps it was because the boss kept talking about martial law. I never want martial law invoked... never mind with the current leader.

I wish I could afford to take this time off from work, but we are all hands on deck because of being remote. I would've to get lost in an art project, or start yard work.

I guess most people don't like their freedoms curtailed but it really is in their best interests. Some governments are being tougher than others and threatening their citizens with financial penalties if they don't comply (France for instance; anyone flouting the restrictions risks a fine of €38 to €135.) Marshall law would be extreme for any country and I don't see that sort of thing happening here, we are mostly laid back and take a sensible approach. We have no enforced lockdowns at the moment here, it is voluntary and most people understand the need to protect staff and the public. Our High Street is like a ghost town!
