ravena_kadeSo I go into work today. It's 5 AM. The dinosaur starts laughing and says out loud that they are giving her access to the system I use. I don't take the bait. She waits a bit and says something else about it. I said I wasn't copied on the email so I don't know exactly what is going on. She is quiet for about 20 minutes. She then says that while she will train that she is retiring as soon as her son comes home. I asked when did she think this would be. She said March or maybe the summer... Or sooner. Oh I feel played. I asked if she told the boss. She said that the boss knows. Has known since Christmas. Hmmm.. really... they why put me through this.
6:05 AM I meet with the boss. She calls me to her seat and I said no it needs to be private. We go out into the hall. At 6:05 AM it is private. I told her that the dinosaur says you know she is retiring once a certain event happens. Said you have known it for a couple weeks. The boss said she didn't know that. I said that I feel like I am boing played here, but I don't know by who and it is not fair. I am getting sick of it. The boss said that she knows the dinosaur's son is moving back, but she didn't know when and if she was told that a retirement was coming then she wouldn't have set up training. She said that she should have told me yesterday that during the permanence review (that s due by mid February) she was going to have to tell the dinosaur that if she did not train and do more work that the higher bosses want her to retire or be fired. She said that she didn't care if the dinosaur only gave 2 weeks notice as we can pick up the slack. She wont be missed as far as work goes. I said yes, you should have told me. I have been leaving work feeling pushed, used, and upset... and stuck with this problem. I am loosing my patience with it. I don't make that much money to be creating an ulcer.
I am not sure if I believe the boss... 3o plus years in a company and being a manager that does not manage means she is good at covering her ass. I don't think she would miss me at all.
Funny how she is now trying to get someone else that I trained two years ago up to speed again... the someone who kept trying to text me while I was seated on an active jury in a court case.
