Someone hates me...

Instead of addressing the issues with the Dinosaur they want to give her more work. They want her to work with me on what I do. I am to train her. The boss asked me how I would feel about training her and I said I feel sick. It's not a good idea. I do not trust her. It puts stress on me and doubles my work as I will have to redo everything. She should have been let go. She is incompetent.

Instead she is my ulcer.


The boss said that maybe this will make her quit. Ummm... maybe not her. I said I am even less happy about being made to be the bad guy so management wont look bad.

I am sick.

Have been in this position before. It only ends up bad for the person training. All of her mistakes are the trainer's fault. Her not liking anything will be the trainer's fault. She wins as he has a job...management wins because someone is baby sitting... and I go mental.

Its that boss that is driving this. The Dinosaur is not doing 8 hours of work so they figure that bank customers are not impacted since I work with ATM machine claims from people without out bank accounts.

The director that they laid off would not have done this...the new bosses don't have a clue.

I wish I had some savings so I could quit.

fairly current. I have a couple things to add.

the bigger thing is I am pushing 55 with no degree and no one to network with. A supermarket may be my only choice and then I loose the house.

Start checking with other banks and financial institutions in the area. You cannot possibly only be qualified for a minimum wage position in some shithole.

oh, I know I am qualified for many business operation jobs... the thing is if you don't know someone the resume doesn't get accepted. Most operations jibs today say associates or bachelors degree...while my lifetime work can equal those, indeed weeds out my resume because a degree is not there.

Because FUCK THAT SHIT. Get your resume out and apply for EVERYTHING. I love ya, Jen, but this Negative Nancy shit has got to go.
I don't care if you don't have the degree. Polish that resume until it gleams in the fog, and let your extensive experience speak for itself. Plaster that thing on the front doors of businesses if you have to. If you send a resume and don't hear back within a week, place a follow up call. When you get an interview, send a thank-you card. Make yourself stand out, make them remember you.

The shithole you're working at now is literally killing you. Get the fuck out of there.

^ THIS. Research shows that men will apply for jobs that they aren't even vaguely qualified for, while women only apply for jobs where they match 100% of the job description. I think it's time we all job hunt like men, if we match 75-85% of the job requirements, then we should GO FOR IT!

I apply for anything I want (dream job) or anything I know I can do. The no degree thing comes from someone that used to work HR for Liberty Mutual. My resume would have never made the parse from Indeed. I applied there so many times (because I wanted to work back in Boston proper) that I got responses saying I wasn't qualified for their insurance company...even though I had 29 year of experience in a life insurance company. The bank I am at never saw my resumes either... I applied 6 times. Someone I knew gave my resume to the boss I liked (he was laid off in August).

I still plug away. I did the follow ups and thanks you and such, One non profit called me back and said that I would have been a good fit but they wanted to hire an alum's kid.. or someone who would grow in the field... not say in their office.

I really want MFA or NEAQ...but last week I volunteered at a non profit on Milk Street so now I am searching their site for jobs.
