My phone is still doing the on and off thing with the head phones. I am thinking that the spring that holds the headphone pin out (until a headphone jack is inserted) is done or just too weak. There is no way that a drop of water has been stuck there since December 21. The phone rings, but I have to talk on headphones as I cannot hear the caller. The timer also still works.
I am trying to wait until my tax refund to buy a phone, but I may not be able to wait. I missed a text that I would have like to have heard the notification for tonight. I do not want to put a big purchase on a credit card, nor just buy a new smart phone in cash when it is home heating fuel time, the craft show income was negative and I impulse bought a camera lens... oi. All very first world issues.
I use iPhones as the thought is that I can link them to my computer...I also really like the customer service. Have any of you bought a new phone and had the techs switch over the info from your old phone to the new? What I am wondering is that do all my apps get migrated over, and if so do their passwords work? Or do you have to re set up all your apps and passwords?
I know I can go to the apple store and buy a phone and they can hook me up to my Verizon carrier, but I didn't know about the data I had on the phone. I don't have any nice photos so I am not worried about that.

Date: 2020-01-12 11:12 am (UTC)Back at Black Tie, we were all given iPads for work, but we were told that if we put the tablet on our own data plan we could use the tablet for anything personal as long as we did also use it for work.
After a while mine stopped charging and was kind of on the fritz, but it was still under warranty. I brought it to the Yapple store and they did some hoodoo to it, but eventually determined the thing needed to be replaced. So they did, but before that they made sure all the apps and personal stuff were backed up to the iCloud and when the new iPad was set up they just pulled all the old stuff out of the iCloud and transferred it into the new iPad.
I know Verizon charges a few to do this for you. They didn't used to do it but now they've made it so if you do it yourself it's 1) impossible, and 2) invalidates some warranty or something. I don't recall Apple having done so for my iPad data transfers but that may have been due to the device replacement being under warranty, rather than Apple doing something out of the kindness of their heart.
