My NIKON will not work. I used it last at the end of March. I took the battery out tonight and placed it in the charger. When I put t back in the camera did not recognize it. I am wondering if the lithium battery could have ran out/become too old. I have had the camera and the same battery for 6 years. A you tube video said to check the terminals on the battery and they are clean.

I hope I just need to buy a new battery. I don't want to learn to use a new camera just yet and I still don't have a final bill for the kitchen... so I don't know if I can replace such a luxury...

Odd since I finally had the hankering to get back to my camera... I haven't felt very creative as I am not coping well. Photography is one of those things that put me in the here and now and I don't think of anything else...

If you do need a new one, Sony are nicely simple to pick up on!

That depends on which Sony. ;-) I got a Sony DSC RX100 for work, and it was months before I could take a decent photo with it. In the hands of an expert it can no doubt take DaVinci-class images, but it took ages and many re-readings of the manual before I found settings that work for the kind of photography I do for $dayjob. :\

I'm only an (decent, so people tell me) amateur and I've been using an A290 for a while which I found good and friendly from the get go.
