ravena_kadeLast week was really stressful.
The coworker next to me was out...she is out for2 weeks. Not because she wanted to, but because the new VP believes that people reconciling general ledger accounts need to be out 2 weeks in a row so they can be caught moving funds illegally. Ummm...we balance the account... she has no way of moving anything. They forced the issue at year end when we are short staffed anyway. She doesn't have afull day's work but maybe 3 hours daily... that means I had an extra 3 hours added, plus trying to do the work that belonged to my back up... sigh.
On Tuesday my hands ached terribly... typing is no help. Aspirin is no help. I have a fear that this sweat shop like data entry that my job has become is going to kill my hinds so I can't paint. I know they ave been swollen since July when everything at work amped up.
I also had to stay late because the new VP wanted a town hall meeting from 3 to 5 anti was mandatory to stay... the meeting was in PA so we listened on the phone. It sounded like fun... he did a raffle for a PTO day to be used by the end of the year and the coworker who was out for 2 weeks won it so there is another day I am screwed.
Then starting the Friday another woman is out until January so I have to do her work too.
FridayI was supposed to have a half day but I could not keep up. The boss wanted me togo, but she could not offer help and got mad that I stayed. I said that if I can't do it all today how and I to do everything I leave and then all of it again on Monday with no help. I can't do 3 people's work and take a half day. She once again said "Suit yourself" I said I wasn't suiting myself, but I am not given a realistic choice... if I don't do it it does not go away and no one can help me. I need a proper back up. I will take my hours when the coworker is back.
So I didn't get to see an art show I had planned for a month to go see. I am mad about it, but I also know I could not enjoy it since I was so stressed out.
Today I have ceramics class. There are 2 Christmas gifts left for the students to do. One won't be able to finish this week so I can't have next Sunday off like I wanted. Oh well.
Looking forward to 2020.. The winters slow things down a bit.
