ravena_kadeI was able to contact my friend whose husband is in the hospital...he did not pass last night. She found him on the floor when she got home from church. She called 911 and then she called her friend the nurse who lives a block away. The EMTs got there and started to try and get him breathing. The went to defibrillator his heart but the definition machine detected that his heart was beating so they did not have to do that. The sent him to one ER who looked atheism, but sent him to a big Boston hospital. They thought it was a stroke. The big Boston Hospital said that's heart looked fine. They think he had a seizure, his heart may have skipped a beat, and he stopped breathing...when the EMTs got there his heart was just barely beating. Since they feared brain and organ damage from not breathing they induced a coma and decided to drop his body temp to preserve organ function. I have never heard of this. They said they would keep him cold and in a coma for 24 hours. Then try to wake him up and see what is working and what is not. If he wakes up. My heart breaks for my friend. It is just about 24 hours now... I know she is there waiting for him to wake up.
Just after I hung up the phone with my friend my boss came over. She had to tell me that the people I trained to take over my job starting today have refused to take it over. My boss was expecting me to blow up. I told her my reaction isn't what you expect because I just found out that someone I have known for 25 years is laying in a hospital bed in a coma. I am not pleased that I was put through so much stress and my time wasted...but it isn't important at the moment. She tried to tell me that my manager Pennsylvania was upset and so was my
VP. I said that I understood that she , the manager in front of me, was upset because she wanted the work gone more than I did, but unless I hear it from the Pennsylvania boss and the VP I don't believe that they are upset. The boss then said that she told the upper management that I had vacation and that none of the work would be done until I come back because I have no back up. I guess they asked if I could change my time off. She told them no. Good. I told her that Thursday is the anniversary of my Moms death and I am not working on anything.
and about 12 minutes after this conversation she asked if I could have the month end reporting done today. It is not due until the 15th. I said no. Perhaps I can do it tomorrow...

This sounds a little like your boss might enjoy the drama? Is she a drama llama?
