Today I started work at 5 and worked all day in the flight or fight mode... 10 hours fun stress. The boss did offer to help, but her computer actually died. I sent her a list of everything that was coming at me plus the training I had to do for the people taking over my claim job.
The boss seems to feel that 20 minutes will cover everything I learned in 6 years. I understand that the VP and the boss just want this off our plate ASAP, however if they are not trained properly we will be blamed for it and it will take longer to get rid of the function. A little time up front is not a bad thing. I had to tell them that I have done this before Yes, I now I may be giving away my job, but I know they can't do it better than I can because they are going to split it amongst a whole call center...good luck).
Tomorrow is my last day of doing 3 people's jobs so I know I can clear up on Monday.
This makes me feel better.
I asked the boss if she was still interested in making that ceramic nativity set for her son for Christmas. She said yes and I said I could bring tin Monday...and she was markedly nicer to me... Yup...she now needs something from me. The son wanted the family nativity set, but it was promised to the boss's daughter. That nativity set was made by the kids' grandmother. I offered to hook the boss us with a set for her to paint so her son could have a family made set too. Funny how the boss and I don't see eye to eye, but I am a part of their Christmas tradition (she made each kid a ceramic Christmas tree last year)
Tonight Dad went to the corner store to get lottery tickets... he was gone a long time. The store was robbed at gun point. Thank goodness the guy didn't use the gun. Thank goodness he did not take Dad's wallet, not that there is any cash. The guy came in to rob the register and the lottery register. The guy was dressed head to toe in black, with a hood and a mask on. They could not see him at all...right down to the black gloves. The only thing they saw was the big shiny gun. Oi.
