Friday I had to live work early to take my Dad to have another cortisone shot. I hope this works. If I have to leave early to take him to the doctor then I cannot go to a doctor.

Saturday I went to my beach. It was the perfect time...about 2 hours after high tide. As the tide receded I found Sand dollars. Yay =) It is like hunting. And they are so gosh darn fragile. My hands felt good in the water. I found 6 sand dollars. I watched the surf clams run away from me on their single feet. Funny how when we eat them the foot is called a neck. Found some live shark eyed moon snails... I was concerned as I did not see the the last 2 times. And the sound of the surf pushed out all the concerns and anxieties from my spinning head. I wished I did not have to leave.

I wonder if I had an ancestor who like to roam the tide line...my Grandmother would take us to the city beach (where we spread Ma's ashes) and we would collect the white shells...but I wonder if anyone did not on a grander scale... Women that I may not have met... and I knew my Grand Mother's Great Grandmother. My Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother would not have time for the beach as they were child labor in the mills. But maybe before that...

Today was a family day. We went to a picnic at a pond. Every one behaved so it was a nice day. It was nice to have people to go into the water with...even if it was just a pond... I am a salt water gal. The 90 year old aunt did well. It was a nice day...not too hot. And the pod water was warm...like bath water.

I am trying not to be too anxious about this week. I have 2 days to get out the monthly reports and take care of other people's work. I hope there is not too much. I am tired and I can't work at speed with the hand splints. Next week is my vacation... I am looking forward to it.

So glad you had some beach time. And that your family behaved for once.

if the saltwater felt really good, and cold feels good, i'd consider trying (sea) saltwater soaks (drink some fluids during!) - at least your hands. it might help bring down swelling.
