ravena_kadeI worked my ass off today...
I was able to do the month end reporting in a rsh yesterday and had them ready to sign this morning... and the second manager had a pto day so they were not needed for today. GRRRR. The back up did a portion of another report that needed to be signed. I asked if she printed them. She said yes, but she really didn't. It took her 2 hours to get it to me. GGGRRRR
The boss took away all of the back ups work so she could help me with the denials we have to do. She did not start doing them until 10:30. WTF.
I am slamming out work. I did 20 denials in the morning and organized stuff for the back up to do. The boss approaches me while away from the desks and asks if the back up is producing. Ummmm... she is super slow with no focus. I am stressed. The boss tells me that I don't have until next Thursday (7/18) to finish... she instead wants everything done by this Friday and that I have to push the back up. Ummm...I cannot slam out work and push at the same time. I am not a manager...handling people who do not move as fast as needed is not in my wheel house! She reiterated that she wanted this done by Friday. I told her that I will not make that promise. I have already cancelled PTO to get their done... NEXT WEEK. If everything goes to my schedule things will be done Monday or Tuesday. She said that she didn't want to go on vacation with this hanging over her head(did not say this ....ummm...then don't go?) I am sorry I cannot meet that expectation just for your comfort. I am working Saturday and no one has offered OT. I am doing what I can... but I am not making promises.
She said that there was no way for her to tell if my back up was producing. I said that there was... walk by and see her on the phone. Walk by and see her not there. Even better, open up the spread sheet in the morning and see who many items have her name beside them vs how many have my name beside them.
So then I have to leave at 1:30 to take Dad to the doc for a cortisone shot. we get there for 2;30 and at 3:30 they say the doc had to go someplace so come back Friday. WTF. Oh and this time he will need a ride. We were not told that when we made this appointment. I have to grab a cab. The hard part is getting to leave on Friday... I need to be at the doc office at 2:10. The redline is terrible now and it takes me 45 minutes to go one train stop when it is not rush hour. SIGH.
