I am looking to buy a new air conditioner for my living room/dining room area. I have seen a few that i like but I am confused. The ones I am liking say 115volts... but isn't house current 110? My dryer and kiln are 220. Does this mean you have to rewire for a new a/c?

I know very little about the finer points of electricity, but I have one of those freestanding A/C units. It has a big pipe that goes out the window and chugs cold air into the room. The thing works a treat.

It's great. It's on wheels!

US current is generally 115 Volts AC, but what comes into the house can vary during the day depending on the total load for your town--most US appliances (other than dryers, which run on 200-220) work fine on anything from 105 or 110 up to about 130.
