Mar. 31st, 2019 10:35 amLast night I received an email with the supply list for next week's class. I was expecting a bring your own paints brushes and canvas... I thought that the point of the class was to share experiences to get you to paint every day. The artist instructor is about 30 and survived cancer as a young adult. I figured we would paint 6 x 6 and listen to her life experience...etc. I was not worried about making anything coherent. I wanted experience. I looked at her website and she has painted the same vase of flowers over 900 times. I figured I would paint fish or veggies.
Well I get the list and it is expansive. She asks for a dozen tunes of paint...Liquitex Heavy Body. I have Windsor Newton Pro paints... but none of the colors she wants. I also don't know if they are considered heavy body.
She is asking for 10 6x6 masonite boards, bring your own spot light with a specific type of halogen light bulb, view finders, and specific brushes.
We also need to bring items to set up as a still life.
This has now taken the class out of my comfortable price range and it is too late to cancel. I don't want to cancel... I want the experience... but ... it now makes me feel like I need tomato something out of this and not just a fun day in an artsy town.
