This morning I sent an email to the Amazon social media person just asking her to let me know if she can see my email and to let me know if she could not get help.

She called me tonight. She said that the customer service people have sent emails... I am not getting them.
She said she would try to find more help.

Any ideas on why I would not get emails? I checked my spam folder and there is nothing. Can a hacker stop email communication? I am getting all my other emails. I even received an email stating that the hackers wanted to change passwords on a gaming site ...and I don't game... and I was able to shut that fake account down.

Well, I'm definitely not that smart but I did look after telephone systems and have a logical mind for solving problems.

I do think hackers can prevent emails being delivered although I'm not sure how they do it. That could suggest that Amazon has a gaping security hole in their system but if your email had been hacked you perhaps wouldn't be receiving any emails from anyone.

Did she say whether they (Amazon) were getting failure to deliver notices to the emails they sent? Did they get error messages and if so, what? Have they confirmed they are sending to exactly your email addy? (one digit difference could send them off elsewhere). Read out to her where they should be sending them. You could also test having them send you messages to another email address with the same host (to check that your host/domain doesn't have a fault).

Hope that helps.

Sounds like a right pain in the arse. I'm glad the Amazon lady seems interested in helping you, anyway.

stupid question, maybe, but did you confirm your email address with Amazon? i mean, the simplest way to redirect an account is to log in and set a new reference email.

if they were in your actual email account, i'd expect a lot worse stuff would be happening.

and i second i'm glad someone from Amazon seems to be on it, finally.

The only thing I can think of is that they have your e-mail address wrong. Have you sent them one that they can reply to?

Have you looked in your junk/spam folder?

If it's not in there, then there's definitely something weird going on.
