Mar. 7th, 2018 08:23 pmMy boss texted me that they want us to work from at home tomorrow.
Why didn't they say so before I left. I would have taken home my keyboard and mouse. I would have taken prints of things I need to print as the font on the monitor is only 3...
I also have a 3 hour training tomorrow. I reminded her of that so I am hoping I will not have to cover all of the coworker without a laptops work...
... I will have to mention the work tomorrow... It can't be ignored... but I can't do it will the 3 hour class.
I am not sure if the training will work with my DSL internet. I know I can watch all sorts of youtube vids and movies, but the dsl and the VPN don't like each other. I have gone to our tech people and they won't help me because they say it's a modem thing. I go to my internet provider and they say it is a VPN problem.
I also figured out something .... While the tech limitations (that I don't know how to fix) make working at home stressful for me, I think the real "ISSUE" I have is work following me home... If you ignore me all day then I guess I resent being bothered once I am off the clock and in my private space. Something I need to get over...

Date: 2018-03-08 01:03 pm (UTC)Meanwhile my Dad was able to drive by my work... and had no issues.
It has taken me 2 hours to do what I can do at work in 30 minutes.
That and the older worker without the laptop is there... they did not call her...

Date: 2018-03-08 01:22 pm (UTC)as someone who works from home too, i'd argue that no, this isn't something *you* need to get over, it's something that they need to get over. the temptation for office-y type workers to work more than their 8-hr (or whatever) day is HUGE, and if you give into it, they're abuse the hell out of you. on the days that you work from home, i'd let your boss know that you don't intend to be any more accessible than you are when you're in the office, and if people need to get a hold of you, they need to do it during office hours.

Date: 2018-03-08 03:37 pm (UTC)Second and sadly, I don't want to work from at home.
Sitting at the dining room table just reminds when of when I tried to work and take care of Ma and how I failed. If I had a better job I would not have sent to to rehab to be contaminated.
