May. 16th, 2021 07:12 pmYesterday I made it to the sea. It was a weird mix of joy and relief.
I walked the wrack line. It is the place I am happiest...searching for treasure.
The line at this beach is is much more delicate than at my favored Crane's beach. Fingernail sized blue muscle shells and delicate while and brick red seaweed. Lots of multi colored fragments of granite phoning like jewels in the wetness and the sun. Its like a piece of art with a wet sand background. There were broken sand dollars too. The tide was not low enough to hunt for the whole ones.
The water was warm enough to take off my shoes and walk through the water. Made me so happy. Its been 2 years since I could do that. The sand at the home beach is is coarse and stabby enough that I need beach shoes.
I will go back in a couple weeks..as long as they let non residents in. Ill stay for lunch and poke around the charming used book store.
I hope to be able to get to my Crane's beach. My sister said we could go in October...they shouldn't doing chance tickets by then.
