Today the boss gave us the piece of paper that told us if we would get a merit increase and a bonus. I was modestly rewarded. It is in line with what I expected since they let go of over 120 people to save money...its also better than a stick in they eye. Our VP and director are new to us and don't know who we are or what we do. The manager is not going to fight for us as she is only here for healthcare. 2 of my coworkers told me they were unhappy.

Work has a charity drive going on. They are looking for pjs for kids in homeless shelters. Since I am on the trains and can actually get to stores easier than most of my coworkers I offered to take a collection and buy the pjs for the group. Another group asked if they could join. I said sure since it is 5 men all over 50 and pjs are not something they buy. I collected $130 and I bought 20 sets of pjs...many with Disney characters on it. I am pleased with what I bought.

I have a few days off at the beginning of March so I am training a coworker on some of what I do. She is picking up the process quickly. I knew she would. She is also good with detail. Better than I am. I trust her with this. Unlike the last people that have been picked to help me. The only thing is that she does not comprehend some of the English used in the emails. I will have to watch that for a bit. Today she almost paid a claim when the email said that the ATM was okay today, but it will not be settled properly until next Friday. I had to explain that we had to wait until next Friday. She thought they said it was okay to pay the claim.

I just watched a show where some chefs did a pop up dinner on a beach in California. The tables were close enough to the waters edge that the diners feet got wet as the tide came in. I would love that!
