Jan. 20th, 2019 11:46 amYesterday's chili was good. Will be lunches for the week.I find it economical to do big batch stuff...but I get bored. Dad, on the other hand, can eat the same thing everyday so this helps with the budget.
The spaghetti sauce and meatballs were good, but not fantastic...and well...not like Ma's. I wasn't specifically looking for Ma's...and she never taught me the non meat sauce. I think it was because it may have gotten a tiny bit scorched... I don't have a good heavy pan... and my electric stove is ready to burn my house down. It's still good and tastes like a restaurant sauce... but I want my own sauce so I will get a heavier pan and then experiment. Spaghetti and meatballs once a month is not shabby.
Today is football day so Dad will disappear to the cousins. No ceramics. I have the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and tomorrow we will have pulled pork... If he doesn't like it he will have spaghetti and meatballs.
My dinner will be a steak.
I do have to plan food for him as I am away at the end of the week. Thursday I have dinner out with folks from the insurance company. And Friday I am not home for his dinner and I will be away Saturday too. It's BIRKA weekend...dressing up in costume and visiting friend at a SCA market place.
I do hope next weekend is clear.
