Today the cable guy came. He was scheduled for 7 but showed up after 8:30.

He put in the internet no problem, but the work order did not say to install cable in my house. I had to reschedule.

We were going out so I went to the cable store to see if I could get someone here this week and to make sure I was not charged another installation fee.

When we got there they said that we had 3 cable boxes at the house and not 2 so we had to go home and get the serial numbers of the boxes we had. One box had many stickers on it with numbers that looked like serial numbers so we brought it with us. We go back and they say my account is locked because the account was already changed today. Grrr. So I need to call Friday to make sure they don't change us for4 boxes.

On our way out the woman says we should leave the box we brought with us and get a new one that will talk to the DVR that is in the new box for my Dad's Smart TV.

We get it home and we cannot set it up. It gets stuck on the optimizing video part of the set up procedure.
No there is no TV in the living room and I don't have cable.

5 1/2 hours is wasted on this stupidity. We cannot exchange the box as they are closed. To go on monday means 1.5 hours of traffic to get there. Sigh...

This is why I don't change things that are not broken.

Tomorrow I will see if I can get my work laptop to sign on to the new wifi. I hope it works. This crap is frustrating.
