It was interesting and I am now looking for a book on his life... at one point he lost everything and an art society paid him to go to Venice to paint several paintings... he was supposed to go for 3 months and stayed a year... wow... and produced a TON of work.
Well it got me thinking that I need to set my goal... and what I can do for the new year... and I want enough for an ocean exhibit to get my life back on track... and then I put the idea away before bed.
Then I saw this today.

What do you dream of accomplishing? Last year I launched something I called #Chipstarter. In my book, Capital Gaines, I talk a lot about living out your dream, and how I want to spend my life believing in others in a way that helps them succeed. It is truly my life's mission to empower people to relentlessly chase their dreams, no matter the what! So I'm kicking this thing off again. My hope is that even if you don't enter, you'll fell encouraged and you'll know that I believe in you even if you don't believe in yourself. I am confident that you are capable of extraordinary things. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here's what you need to enter: 1) Think about a goal of yours that has seemed out of reach. Get a game plan together detailing how you’d go about tackling your dream.
2) Film yourself in under two minutes explaining your dream and what you’ll need to accomplish it. 3) If it’s a business you want to start, write me out a business plan. It can be fairly simple! Just walk me through the process.
4) Submit your video + business plan (if it’s a business you’re starting). 5) Finalists will be announced to the public at Silobration.
What would I say I wanted to do in a 2 minute video and make it worth while...mostly as an exercise for myself as no one is going to give me $$ to paint But I do want to show more things. I enjoyed showing my shark in Rockport... but so many responsibilities and bills take me away from painting time... I have made some 2 minute videos for other people on my phone... how to for ceramics... but can I make something to convince myself... and get myself what I need.... if I can figure out what I need. Maybe studio space and someone to cook for dad ;-)
