Friday I went up to NH by rail to visit with my friend Barbara and to go to a Renn Faire. The Faire was cancelled because the weather forecast was hazardous, but we made the best of I and I had a lovely visit.

Dad didn't really do well without me, but I need to get him used to me traveling.

Today I felt like a slug. I did get up and work in the ceramic studio, did 5 laundries, food shopping for the house, and cooked dinner. I did things but I felt sluggish doing them.

I did go out and walk to the beach by my house. A minke whale washed up there on Friday morning and no one told it away yet. I had to see it. You could smell it way before you saw it. The head, tall, and flipper and fluke were missing. Ut was bigger than a sofa. The weird thing is that there were no bites on the body. I could have figured that the birds and coyotes would have been feasting, but no. That and the body wasn't bloated yet. Yes, I watch too many science programs.

As I looked at it a small group of people came over and they were all asking questions. I told them what I knew... They thought I was with the Aquarium. Ha! Some 4 year old wanted to punch in and I "suggested' to his Dad that there could be bacteria on the remains So I wouldn't think touching it would be good. More little kids came over and I suggested that they should not touch it... but I did show them a photo of what a like one looked like on my phone and showed them the bones that held the baleen (funny that was missing as it is like fingernails) and told then what it would have ate. They wanted to know if it was a boy or a girl... and I said it was like with pet cats... sometimes you can't tell, but you can tell with your dog... and we left it at that. Later today there was a back hoe out there and the remains were removed.

Later I prepped dinner. I tried a Mexican street corn salad. It was tasty. The memorable thing was that my plastic cutting board side while I was dicing an onion and I took a HUGE slice out of my finger. I applied pressure and it bled for an hour. I called for help. but no one was around. I figured that It would take me over an hour to get to an open ER so I might as well wait the hour for Dad to come home. I duct tapped it and after 1.5 hours the bleeding did stop. I have it bandaged and I hope that it does not start bleeding again once I release the pressure. We shall see.
