My city is a mess. Tons of damage, but my house is okay. We were still in a state of emergency yesterday...not sure of this morning.

Getting impassible water just 3 doors down was a first. We still can't use Quincy Shore Drive...the main street that runs along the bay and is half a block from my house. I am glad for the small hill my house sites on.

My cousins had to come here Friday after work and only just were able to get home to their Mom and sister. They still have no power. My friend with the ceramic shop could not get to her Mom (or to her own home) until this morning. I would have been frantic if I could not get to my elderly Mom, but I would have never left my area if I thought I could not get back.

Having company for over 2 days was interesting. Happy there are 2 bathrooms in the house. The hard part is that Dad would not give up on the painting of my bedroom Saturday so my craft/guest room was filled with the furniture that could be fit in there and could not be used. All the furniture that was left made my bed hard to get into and the room smelled of paint... my place was a bit of a wreck, but at least I could offer food, sofas and showers. I need to get that second room straight so that does not happen again.

That and if I want people in the downstairs space I need to buy a chair or 2.

Maybe when Dad comes home today we will take a ride to see the damage once the tide is out again.

Oh well. Time to put my house back in order...
