Jul. 8th, 2017 10:58 pmLast night was a nightmare night.... all about my Mom's death. One was just my mom's finally waking moments... another where I was put on trial for the death and had to watch a video of it over and over again... Woke up in rough shape.
Needed to leave the house. Today was the last day of the Matisse and Botticelli exhibits. It was a good time to renew my membership too. The Matisse was cheerful and I found light. I walked through and thought "Yay art and I can do this" And then I looked at the Botticelli and thought...OMG... How? Not so much in the drawing. The art was beautiful, but what I can't fathom is the smoothness of the paintings... could not see a brush stroke... and the colors were so rich and vibrant... while the flesh was so translucent.
After that I headed to a new art supply store but was disappointed in the watercolor and brush selection.
Lunch was a trip to Eataly... I had 4 oysters and then some proscuto and melon and a lovely white wine. A yummy lunch for a hot summers day.
Tonight I went to a traditional 10 course Chinese banquet with Dad. It was to celebrate the birth of one of his coworkers first grandchild. These are alwaysys a tad strange as we are the only none Chinese speaking people there. They always order Dad the "white Guy" plate and are amused when I will tick into everything...well everything but the duck feet (they taste okay, but I am not fond of the texture.
Tomorrow is a chore day...yard in the morning and inside afternoon. I have Monday off and have invited over company.
