Up early and headed to The Steampunk Festival in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was so easy to get to by train. I actually got here before the event opened so I went for a walk to get the lay of the land. I like exploring new cities I can get to on my own. I just wish the day felt like a day in mid May instead of feeling like November.
I met up with Rachel and friends easily and it was nice to chat. With all the stuff that happened I have not seen her in a year. With both had a lot happen.
I enjoy the festival. It has lots of crafts/art and live music. I love live music. I also like the costuming that goes along with Steampunk. We even went to the Teapot races... and I think it is a sport I can do. IT is a teapot on a remote control car body and you try to run it on an course. No one really does it well, but it is fun.
I also scoped out the crafts vendors and some of the art work I have been thinking of still has not been done. I just need to carve out time to do it.
Next year friends may try and vend their crafts there. I would like to do that as well. I would also like to attend the ball on Friday night, but finding garb in a larger size is hard. We shall see.
