I like having the TV on while I work. Listening to things helps me not get depressed over that crap work. The TV isn't in front of me so I can't see what is on, but I like to listen...I don't often "just" watch TV so I am used to it being on as background noise.

Most of my viewing is science and nature shows. Today there was one on the Amazon. I learned a few things that I did not know:

There is a tributary to the Amazon river that is a hot river...hot spring, but bigger. Nature people would mix plants with this water and make medicines.

I found out that the Amazon has the largest tidal bore on Earth. A tidal bores is when the tide comes in a river mouth fast and with force. There is a man who surfs the waves created by this.

Boto...the pink river dolphins that I love... have whiskers to fee around the dark
waters they live in. No other dolphins have whiskers.

Where the Amazon river mixes with the ocean there is a large reef that scientists have only discovered by using submarines. It is made out of giant sponges instead of coral.
